With the chaos that is sure to erupt after this week’s games are played in the College Football Playoff rankings, the Friday night matchup in the Pac-12 takes huge meaning for one of the schools. With some help along the way, No. 9 Washington is within striking distance of moving into the top four, but will have to first win its game, and a big one at that, at Stanford.
Our college football experts preview and pick that game against the point spread below. Click here to follow all of our previews and picks from Saturday’s Week 11 games. And, as always, follow us on Twitter.
No. 9 Washington at Stanford, 10:30, FS1
Spread: Washington -6
Brad’s Breakdown: There are five teams this week ahead of Washington in the Playoff rankings that realistically could lose Saturday, which makes this game for the Huskies that much bigger. It’s already a huge matchup playing Stanford on the road, but with the playoff implications in front of them, the Huskies have to find a way to come away with not only a win, but an impressive one. If Washington doesn’t, the Playoff will be an afterthought. Stanford has everything to derail those Playoff dreams as well. Stanford is 6-3 and coming off a close loss to Washington State last week. Stanford, of course, is a defensive-minded team, but Washington has actually been better on that side of the ball this season, and that’s bad news for a Cardinal offense that won’t scare anyone. Washington needs a big win, and it will get it on the big stage.
Brad’s Final: Washington 31, Stanford 17 (Washington)
Craig’s Final: Washington 28, Stanford 17 (Washington)
Glenn’s Final: Washington 42, Stanford 20 (Washington)
Matt’s Final: Washington 31, Stanford 21 (Washington)
