Friday night isn’t exactly a known as a hotbed for college football action, but with a Big Ten team playing a ranked opponent on the road there’s no way we would ignore it.
Below, our four college football experts break down and pick against the spread the Illinois at No. 22 South Florida game Friday night on national television. As always, check back for our college football previews and picks against the spread for Saturday and follow us on Twitter for all of our coverage.
Illinois at No. 22 South Florida, 7, ESPN
The Spread: South Florida -18
Brad’s Breakdown: Former Texas coach Charlie Strong gets the national stage to prove his Bulls are a team to be taken seriously this season, and will get an opponent they should be able to handle rather easily. The game will be played in Tampa as well, which could give South Florida an emotional edge considering everything that has happened in Florida that past several days. South Florida hasn’t played well this season in two victories, but could have a breakout game Friday night. Illinois, coached by Lovie Smith, is also 2-0, but scored 44 combined points against Ball State and Western Kentucky. Illinois just doesn’t have the offense to keep up in this one.
Brad’s Final: South Florida 38, Illinois 14 (South Florida)
Craig’s Final: South Florida 31, Illinois 17 (Illinois)
Glenn’s Final: South Florida 35, Illinois 28 (Illinois)
Matt's Final: South Florida 41, Illinois 17 (South Florida)
