Dolphins at Jets Preview: GameDay Staff Picks Winner Against Spread

November 28, 2014

The New York Jets were humiliated by one conference foe last week, the Bills, and now face another AFC East opponent in Week 13 as the Miami Dolphins come into MetLife Stadium Monday night. Our GameDay Is Here staff gives their predictions on the game. To make actual wagers on this game and more, click here.

Miami Dolphins (6-5) at New York Jets (2-9)

Monday, 8:30 p.m., ESPN

Betting Line: Jets +7

Brad Carroll (6-5 straight up, 4-7 vs. spread)

Dolphins 27, Jets 17

The Jets reminded everyone just how bad they are with their humiliating loss to the Bills last Monday night. Actually, they are even worse than we all remember. Now, Geno Smith is back at quarterback, which was probably the decision of the incompetent general manager and a clueless owner. Either way, Jets fans need to hope Smith is his usual terrible self. The last thing you want is Smith under center next season.

Matt Straub (4-7, 4-7)

Dolphins 34, Jets 17

We just passed the 20th anniversary of Dan Marino's fake spike. The Phins won't need one this time. It's a shame really, watching the Jets. They're a quarterback away from having a chance. Geno Smith is not that quarterback.

Craig Carroll (5-6, 5-6)

Dolphins 31, Jets 20

Geno or Vick? It doesn't really matter, as the Jets are a joke of a team. Geno Smith gets the starting nod, proving even more how little the Jets brass knows. Geno stinks, so move on, Jets. Period.

Glenn Carroll (5-4, 4-5)

Dolphins 35, Jets 13

The only bright spot for the Jets has been their defensive line, and now their best player is likely out for this game. Mo Wilkerson's absence will have the Jets going from horrible to despicable. Geno Smith will probably complete 80 percent of his passes in an attempt to persuade the front office he is The Guy. The scary part for Jets fans is the front office will probably fall for it. Since it hasn't been said in a while ... Fire Idzik.
