Falcons At Giants Preview: GameDay Staff Picks Winner Against Spread

October 4, 2014

The New York Giants take on the Atlanta Falcons at home Sunday afternoon in Week 5. Our GameDay Is Here staff gives their predictions on the game.

Atlanta Falcons (2-2) at New York Giants (2-2)

Sunday, 1 p.m., FOX

Betting Line: Giants -4

Brad Carroll (3-1 straight up, 3-1 vs. spread)

Giants 24, Falcons 17

The Giants are on an actual hot streak, saving their season with two straight victories after opening with two horrible losses. Eli Manning has looked great the last two weeks, and has played well in three straight games. The Giants have found a running game, led by Rashad Jennings, and the defense has stepped up as well. Make it three in a row.

Matt Straub (1-3, 1-3)

Giants 27, Falcons 21

I'm not on the bandwagon by any means, but I can't figure this Giants team out. So, when my head says loss, I'll give them a win.

Craig Carroll (2-2, 2-2)

Giants 27, Falcons 24

I still don't believe the Giants are as good as they have looked the last two weeks, nor as bad as they looked in the first two. But luckily for them Atlanta has a terrible defense that can't stop the run. Expect big games from both Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams as the Giants move to 3-2. Atlanta will have just enough offense to cover the spread, however.

Glenn Carroll (2-1, 2-1)

Falcons 28, Giants 13

The Giants have ranged from contenders to pretenders all year. They will be pretenders again Sunday. Andre Williams will be the scapegoat instead of Eli Manning, as he has multiple drops and a fumble.
