Cardinals At Giants Preview: GameDay Staff Predicts Week 2 Winner

September 13, 2014

The New York Giants host the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at 1 p.m. in a Week 2 matchup. Our GameDay Is Here staff gives their predictions on the game. Read our three keys to a Giants victory here.

Arizona Cardinals (1-0) at New York Giants (0-1)

Sunday, 1 p.m., FOX

Betting Line: Giants +2.5

Brad Carroll (1-0 straight up, 1-0 vs. spread)

Cardinals 31, Giants 24

As bad as the Giants were in the preseason, it had nothing on how poorly they were in a Week 1 loss to the Lions. The Giants repeated the same mistakes that killed them during last year's disaster of a season, turning the ball over two times. They also were exposed by Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson on defense. The Cardinals are simply a much better team.

Matt Straub (0-1, 0-1)

Cardinals 30, Giants 17

I thought the Giants were going to be much improved this year for a number of reasons. If last week is any indication, I was dead wrong. I'm off the bandwagon.

Craig Carroll (1-0, 1-0)

Cardinals 27, Giants 20

Nothing has shown me so far that the Giants would be able to beat anyone right now. The Cardinals, while not as potent of an offense as Detroit, will still have more than enough firepower to win this one.

Glenn Carroll (0-0, 0-0)

Cardinals 28, Giants 14

The Giants and Eli Manning are as bad as they look.
